Tips and Tricks
Updating Twitter's status and Facebook's status or notes by email
The simplest way
is by clicking the
or the
icon, after you have submitted the content through a web form.
The coolest way
is by sending an email to your personal JeJot's mail address (provided once you have registered).
After you have authorized JeJot to update your Twitter status, then whenenver you send an email to your JeJot account, it will automatically update your Twitter status using your email subject and if you have a body message, the body will be posted under your account at JeJot and your Twitter status will have a short URL directed to your post at JeJot.
If you don't want to post it to Twitter and it is a personal note that you just want to share it with some friends, just add '-pyournotepassword' at the end of your subject.
i.e. Subject: Hi this is me sun bathing -psecret Your content will be posted on JeJot, but will not be crossposted to Twitter. In a minute, you will receive a reply from the mail server containing your password (in this case it's 'secret') and a link to your jot.
Use
Selective Twitter App on Facebook , so everytime you add #fb at the end of your email subject, the post will also be crossposted to your Facebook account. Or use
Twitter app on Facebook , so any of your email which is crossposted to your Twitter will also be posted on Facebook. How cool is that?
All email addresses found on your email body will be hidden, so you can safely forward any email to be posted on Twitter, Facebook or just share with your private groups
Posting a photo to Twitter
Cheese... Snap and send it to your JeJot's personal email address. Your email subject will be the status of your Twitter account and a short link will be placed to view your photo at JeJot.
Posting a long note to Twitter
Send any email, Instant Messaging conversation, or anything whether it is a plain text or a rich media text to your JeJot account. Done. Your Twitter status will be updated with the email subject and a short link to your note/forwared email at JeJot.com
Posting a long note and share with friends
If you are not authorizing JeJot to post your jot to Twitter, then, any email sent to your JeJot account, will be posted at JeJot, and you will receive a reply in a minute containing your short link to your content (jot)
Protecting a note or a photo with a password
Just add '-pyournotepassword' at the end of your subject. i.e. Subject: Hi this is me sun bathing -psecret . Or, add a password after you posted from web form. You can reset a password anytime.
Shortening a long URL
Just send a long URL to your JeJot account and you'll receive a reply from the server containing a shotened link that you can share with anyone. (Note: If you have authorized JeJot to update your Twitter account, then you will NOT receive any reply)
All jots are yours, no one knows unless you give them the link
